Modders Are Bringing Co-op Back to ‘Resident Evil Revelations 2’

It hasn’t even been a week since Resident Evil Revelations 2 made its debut. Its launch was, for the most part, a smooth one. The only exception being a bit of controversy regarding some false advertising on the game’s Steam page.

The problem is that while the console versions of Resident Evil Revelations 2 have local co-op, the PC version does not. Capcom failed to mention this until just before the first episode released on Tuesday, understandably frustrating many PC gamers in the process.

Thanks to the malleable nature of PC games, the modding community is already hard at work at bringing back co-op, including modder FluffyQuack, who recently posted a video showing off the fruits of his labor. So far, it looks to be shaping up nicely.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 Ep 1 is available now for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Feels weird that amateurs can do stuff this kind of stuff that the professional game developers could not do.

    • Not amateurs, but talented individuals who just didn’t get their big break yet.

      • I second what TDimension said, and I’d also like to add that Capcom *could* have added co-op to the PC version, they just chose not to. I’m not sure why, but I’d assume is has to do with their running out of time and/or money. Or maybe they just hate PC gamers.

You hear that, PC Master Race? Capcom HATES you.

Don’t worry- They actually hate everyone equally =3

Crapcom hates PC gamers. Ohhhh, my heart is bleeding hehehe…

I guess so and the world seems to be filled with computer experts nowadays that can do pretty much anything they want.

To be fair, if they were someone who didnt get a big break, theyd be working with some small indie company showing off what they can do, not modding something that already exists. Therefore, that makes them amateurs.

        • Oh please, that is so shallow-minded. Minh Le and Jess Cliffe wrote the very popular Counter Strike which is a mod for Half Life produced by Valve that landed the both of them a job at Valve.

HUGE difference in modding a FULL, standalone game and PART of a game.

          • That’s beside the point. Serious mod creators are not amateurs and choose this platform to showcase their skills to the specific companies they want to work for.

I finally got this on PS4 and must say so far I’m pleasantly surprised.

I’m pretty underwhelmed. Some of the game-mechanics are ridiculous.
